Department of Homeland Security
In 2003, the newly formed Department of Homeland Security turned to BT's directory and messaging technology and services when they needed to deploy email quickly and cost-effectively to all DHS employees. The immediate problem was to connect to the existing email systems throughout the 22 agencies allowing the DHS employees to quickly find the appropriate email address and communicate. Applying the righttechnology at DHS is an example of how BT Federal provides leadership in solving complex systems integration problems. The DHS system will eventually serve 230,000 Homeland Security employees, and will join up with similar messaging systems created by BT Federal for other agencies.
BT and prime contractor, PEC Solutions, worked together to provide project management support, hardware and software testing, systems development and analysis, as well as systems engineering and integration. |
