Department of Labor (DOL) – Los Angeles branch

BT has been instrumental in helping the DOL work more effectively. Two offices of the DOL were recently combined into a new location in downtown Los Angeles. BT provided relocation services for the move of all electronics (data switches, routers, hubs and PBX's). Previous to the move, BT engineers designed a Premise Wiring System (PWS) data infrastructure in the new office, enabling high-speed data connections to all worker areas within the new facility. This work included secure cabinetry for the data electronics and PBX's.

The DOL has over 6,500 offices throughout the United States. Office relocations, facility upgrades, and other services are required to keep these offices fully on line performing the DOL mission. DOL’s recurring need for integration services is ideally suited for BT’s distributed technical workforce. BT’s project management ensured BT resources were ready when they were needed, and kept the DOL fully informed of the project's progress by co-coordinating contacts at the DOL headquarters, local DOL personnel, ad GSA personnel.
