Alan C. Ptak Assumes Role of President of BT Syntegra Federal
ARDEN HILLS, Minn., – February 19, 2004 – BT Syntegra, the $1 billion business transformation and change management subsidiary of BT Group, today announced new leadership of its Federal subsidiary, based in Washington D. C., with the appointment of Alan C. Ptak as its new President.
With more than 35 years of technical, operational and government relations expertise across a broad range of maritime, space and intelligence areas, Ptak will lead the development of BT Syntegra’s systems integration business with the Federal Government.
Ptak will leverage his deep understanding of security matters, developed at the JFK School of Government, Harvard University, to position BT Syntegra Federal as a thought leader in homeland security and national defense.

Ptak was selected for this position because of his excellent blend of business and government appointments. He has held executive positions at IBM Business Consulting Services, Deloitte Consulting and Lockheed Martin Corporation. He also held senior US Government staff positions including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Veterans Committee.
Ptak spent nine years in active naval duty earning several decorations and awards, including the Navy Commendation medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and an Intelligence Community award. He received his bachelor's degree from the US Naval Academy.
